Exhibition: Impressions

Last years Walking Men sculpture on the beach prompted numerous photographs drawings, paintings and even a short film. A selection of these responses was hurriedly assembled as an impromptu exhibition at The Mayfly Cafe in the High Street. It was such a success that we wanted to get more people involved with creating their own positive creative responses to the sculptures that will soon be landing on our beach. We encourage everybody to get involved , previous experience is not required.

The Impressions Project has been made possible with the support of East Suffolk Council, Messums East and Laurence Edwards.

With a host of sculptures brought to the town as part of First Light Festival grab a pencil and paper or camera and start recording your responses to the sculptures straight away. After the festival weekend join in on one of our morning sketching sessions led by local artists , Develop some of your ideas at our pop up printmaking studio sessions at The Mayfly . All culminating in an exhibition of your work responding to Lowestoft’s summer season of sculpture on the beach.

"IMPRESSIONS" An exhibition assembled from the photos, sketches and prints created as part of the Impressions project, at The Mayfly Cafe Gallery.
